Alpine passes around Wanaka

Crown Range: Elevation 1076m at summit (3530ft) The Crown Range is the road between Wanaka and Queenstown. This is the highest sealed pass in New Zealand, 2m higher than the Desert Road summit on State Highway 1 in the North Island.

Lindis Pass: Elevation 971m at summit (3186ft) SH8 between Tarras and Omarama.

Haast Pass: Elevation 564m at summit (1850ft) SH6 – the saddle between the valleys of the Haast and Makarora rivers.
