Police have received information to suggest the man in this photo, taken from CCTV footage outside the Alexandra ‘I’ site Visitor Centre, could possibly be missing man Christopher Bates.
The footage was taken on Monday 12 February 2018 at 8.52am and shows a man carrying what appears to be a white plastic shopping bag.
“The footage does not show the man’s face, making identification difficult,” Detective Sergeant Derek Shaw says.
“By releasing this image we hope someone in the community can identify him or provide more information that may be helpful to our investigation."

Chris was last seen leaving home in Central Alexandra about 1pm on Sunday 11 February, when he said that he was heading to the river to meet with a friend but has not been seen since.
More than 40 Search and Rescue volunteers from throughout the lower South Island will join a Police dog team today for a mainly land-based search in several areas around Alexandra.
“The teams will be searching some areas which previously proved difficult to access due to the nature of the vegetation and some flooding,” Detective Sergeant Shaw says.
Anyone with information about the CCTV image is urged to contact Southern District Command Centre on 03 471 5002.
