Western Australian festival drummers Wasamba held a flash mob performance on the lakefront at Wanaka yesterday (Wednesday June 28).
The non-profit community group is based in Perth and Broome in Western Australia and has been running for the last 15 years.
They had been in Queenstown performing at the Queenstown Winter Festival and decided to treat Wanaka locals to a 40 minute performance before returning home to Perth.
Events coordinator Georgia Gannon said, “We do these tours every second year to somewhere exciting. After performing in Queenstown and Coronet Peak we heard that Wanaka was an amazing place to be, so we thought we had to play here.”
